Carol Flanagan wrote about what happened at Team Flanagan in 2015, including how they were able to help their clients achieve their home ownership dreams and how they were able to give back to the Portland community. Carol also talked about her goals for Team Flanagan in 2016.
2015 was a great year for Team Flanagan. Last year we helped more families than ever before achieve their dreams of home ownership. It was especially meaningful to see a family that I had been working with for the last five years purchase a home this past spring. That is why what we do is so rewarding.
We also continued to give back to our community. We held a food drive and were able to donate over 300 pounds of food to the Portland Food Project. In September we participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
I also had the opportunity to teach a class at the Coffee Creek Correctional Facility for women in conjunction with Mercy Corps NW and the Multnomah County Health Department. In the class, we covered the basics of record keeping in preparation for these women who many open their own businesses after their release.
One of my biggest goals in 2016 is to continue to educate people so they can make sound financial goals and decisions. To this end, we will be hosting client education events throughout the year.
Our team has grown this past year, and we plan to continue growing. We added a marketing assistant, Katie, to our team in 2015, and we’ve added another team member since the new year started. These additions to our team make it possible for me to continue to take great care of my clients.
Despite my love of Portland, I enjoyed a few trips away this year. One was my annual family visit to Hawaii. I love going back there with its spectacular scenery and food culture. I also took a fun trip to Mexico. Even with my fear of heights, I did 10 different zip line routes in the mountains. It was a thrilling and memorable experience!
Thank you for all you did to make us a success in 2015. I wish you all the best in 2016.
Carol Flanagan
